Robyn Simpson

Robyn is an aerial, dance and circus choreographer. Her experience in dance, physical theatre, fashion, TV, film and community performance has developed through 15 years as a performer and choreographer. Her interest in creating large-scale productions led her to choreograph events such as the Ark Gala Ball, the UK School Games, the first aerial fashion show in the UK, inaugurations of St David’s Mall, Cardiff, Colston Concert Hall, Bristol; P&O Cruise ships Naming Ceremony, Wheels & Heels - London Fashion Week urban parade and co-choreographer with Gary Lloyd (Thriller-Live / X-Factor) on The Greatest Show. Robyn has choreographed for Cal McCrystal’s (Cirque du Soleil / Mighty Boosh) 5* shows: 4 Poofs and A Piano, The Office Party, Pluck: The Titanic Show, West End show Stephen & the Sexy Partridge and Avocado; She has also directed a music video It’s all about Albrecht; With over 10,000 hours in a harness, Robyn is an expert in wire-work, bungee, swivel and static-line harness and has been involved in Opening Ceremonies for UEFA-Donbass Arena, Festival of Thinkers, Arafura Games, Football World Cup 2009, World Swimming Championships, Dubai World Cup and the World Athletics Championships.  


Robyn has been a devising performer with Stan Won’t Dance, and in Love, Sex & Death with Nigel Charnock; performed in Tim Burton’s Sweeney Todd; for Muse (H.A.A.R.P & Resistance tours), for The Golden Years of Couture–London Fashion Week; Miss World and English National Opera. Robyn performs freelance with Cirque du Soleil, did the lead role in The Millennium Dome show; several roles at The Eden Project and Womad; large-scale site-specific outdoor performances with Motionhouse Dance Company and Scarabeus; at the World of Froud Festival, Arizona; 2-month rehearsal period with De La Guarda; performed The Little Mermaid with Sphinx Theatre; The Australian Ballet; The Dream Engine; and a variety of commercials and music videos. Robyn received an Assistant Director and Choreographer placement in Las Vegas, on We Will Rock You and Cirque du Soleil’s Ka. She has completed a Masters of Fine Arts in Choreography.  Her large-scale production, The Lovepet, was selected as one of three pieces worldwide to compete in an International Choreography Competition, Burgos – New York.  Robyn is currently working with children rescued from child trafficking to develop Nepal’s first circus Sapana: Company of Dreams.
