Jakarta Fashion & Food Festival 2013

Jakarta

Celebrating a decade of existence in the dynamics of Indonesia’s fashion and culinary industry, Jakarta Fashion & Food Festival (JFFF) commenced its events on May 18, 2013 running through to May 26th at Mal Kelapa Gading, La Piazza, and Harris Hotel Kelapa Gading. JFFF is one of the biggest annual festivals organized by PT Summarecon Agung Tbk. and Jakarta Tourism Board on behalf of DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, also supported by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economics of Indonesia and The Ministry of Trade of Indonesia. JFFF was first held in 2004 with the vision of transforming Indonesia into a global melting pot by encouraging various cultured-based business sectors to take part.

Entering its 10th year, JFFF is still consistent with two big themes, fashion and food, arrayed in three main series; they are Fashion Extravaganza, Food Festival, and Gading Nite Carnival.

Fashion Extravaganza showcasing Indonesia’s rich and diverse culture through fashion. Indonesian top designers, and young designers show their new take on tradition in vast collections of contemporary ethnic ready-to-wear apparel through fashion shows and Fashion Village with a concept of trade show.

Conveying its concern and encouragement for the fashion industry, JFFF provides fashion competitions and awards; they are Gading Model Search (GMS), GMS Kids Category, and Fashion Icon Awards. The concept of the trade show in JFFF is shown in Fashion Village. The attractive exhibition stands and presentations display some distinctive collections rarely found elsewhere from participating designers, which include the members of APPMI, IPMI, as well as products of small and medium enterprises (UKM). Here, visitors can enjoy and easily buy their favorite designer’s collection with a chance to meet them in person. A pioneer of night carnival in Indonesia, Gading Nite Carnival (GNC) will mark the opening of JFFF festively. The carnival’s higlight is a street parade around Sentra Kelapa Gading consisting of hundreds participants, decorated cars, contemporary art attraction, costume party, and spectacular fireworks show.
