For Fyah Spryng formally known as Spryng I, Reggae music is the vehicle for him to express himself, a writer of poetry, political issues and social commentary. He uses this medium to highlight the many problems affecting people worldwide. “My music deals with historical events and current affairs, I am representing the voiceless people of the world, the ones who are down trodden, the have-nots, and the people who need help” says the artiste.

Born in Mason River District in the parish of Clarendon on the October 14th, his given name is Gary Williams, His parents are avid lovers of the music, and this had a lot of influence on him musically. He was exposed to many different genres of music from a child. A graduate of Kellits Secondary School, he first began performing at school concerts and community events.

A Rastafarian, who was once a Dee Jay, Fyah Spryng (Spryng I) got his inspiration from Iyann Ilekk Family who endorsed his career and whom he admired as the ardent ones.  He was introduced to Producer/Disc Jockey /Fashion Designer, Pancho from the Tren-Setta Production by David of Sling and Stone.

Fyah Spryng (Spryng I) saw his dream turn to reality when Pancho gave him the Green Peas Rhythm to vibes and he found just the right song with the right melody to vibes and he found just the right song with the melody to sing on the rhythm. The song he recorded, titled “Heights Up” was to be his first radio play song and the beginning of great things for him. The song got heavy rotation on FM radio, he later recorded Bun Pagon” on the Journey Rhythm.

He later found a hit song titled “Pressuring the Poor” on the Khaki Suit Rhythm done in tandem with Ras Shiloh. With the video receiving heavy rotation on Television and Cable Stations, Fyah Spryng (Spryng I) has become quite popular here in Jamaica. The song has also received favorable play in the Caribbean, England and Europe.

Fyah Spryng (Spryng I) have performed on many community stage shows and major stage shows such as Sting 08, Hype 2K9, The Curry Festival and Irie Fm Road Show, Rebel Salute, Reggae Sumfest, St. Mary Mi Come From and more…

Fyah Spryng (Spryng I) is now being used as his stage name due to a number of personal reasons and his beliefs where his music is concern along with the fire being burnt musically.

Fyah Spryng (Spryng I) is now in studio recording and honing his skills, working on a number of singles as well as his debut album, with Signature Records who are now handling his musical affairs.
